Before coming into this class I had never podcasted, or researched it all. In one of my classes last semester my professor told us that there was a chance for extra credit and that it would be a podcast, and I of course not knowing how to do it, just didn't complete it.
While doing the research I found out that you could subscribe to websites that would allow you to create your podcast but there are also other ways where you can do it for free. If you decided to subscribe to a website it allows you to instantly download everything right there.
When I got onto my itunes account and clicked on "podcasts" up in the top left corner, I see that I am already subscribed but have not done anything with it thus far. But, after clicking "podcast directory" that is in the far bottom right of the screen it took me to a page that was filled with all kinds of channels, music, sports pages, tv shows, etc., that I could subscribe to.
I had two choices of video or audio podcasts that I could download, and I chose video. Then tons of different links came up such as movies, tv shows, sports. etc. I clicked on sports and then chose college, I clicked on the Ohio State Football podcast so that from now on whenever I want I can watch videos of football games. The good thing about podcasts are that after they have been downloaded to your computer they can be transferred to your ipod so that you can watch or listen whenever you want.
The good thing about podcasts is that once you start to research them they seem pretty easy to do and follow along with.

The Ohio State football podcast sounds interesting :) hopefully you get another opportunity for podcasting extra credit!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, It is so cute :) You explained podcasting very well. I have never used podcasts on Itunes before so I am excited to try it out after reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteI like how you pointed out that you can choose video or audio on podcasting! Even after researching it myself on iTunes I never realized that sorting like that was an option! I am on the same page with you and podcasting too. I also had the opportunity to get extra credit with a podcast and passed it up not knowing what it was!
ReplyDeleteI like how you started by saying you had never podcasted and even opted out of extra credit because you were not familiar with podcasting. That is the initial feeling I had on the subject, as well. I see now, as do you, that it is not a "scary" thing, it is actually fairly easy to manage!
ReplyDeleteI did not know there were websites that offered podcasting for me, but I will definitely look into those sites!
I so am with you on the podcasting. I had my iPod for over a year before I realized what podcasts were. And, I love that with iTunes they are so easy to download to my iPod, and are FREE! What a bonus! Once you start downloading ones of interest, and there are so many, you will do it more and more! Enjoy!
